GeForce NOW at CES 2025: RTX Gaming for All Devices, Thanks to the Cloud
NVIDIA has revealed significant progress at CES 2025 for GeForce NOW, its cloud gaming platform, highlighting the expansion of the RTX gaming experience to popular devices such as the Steam Deck, Apple Vision Pro spatial computers, Meta Quest 3 and 3S devices, and Pico’s mixed reality solutions. Additionally, the platform welcomes six new games this week, including the highly anticipated DOOM: The Dark Ages and Avowed.
Cloud Gaming for More Devices and Regions
GeForce NOW is expanding to new platforms, allowing players to enjoy GeForce RTX quality on devices like the Steam Deck. A native GeForce NOW app will be released later this year for Valve’s device, delivering a streaming experience comparable to a GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, with support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and NVIDIA Reflex for ultra-low latency.
Steam Deck players will be able to enjoy HDR graphics in handheld mode, stream to external screens up to 1440p at 120 frames per second, or up to 4K at 60 fps on TVs. Features like RTX ON, including ray tracing, and HDR10 support on compatible displays guarantee an impressive visual experience.
In collaboration with Apple, Meta, and ByteDance, GeForce NOW will also be available on virtual and mixed reality devices such as Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3, and Pico. These platforms will enable players to explore games with all of NVIDIA’s technologies, including ray tracing and DLSS, enhancing realism and performance.
GeForce NOW’s global expansion also includes the opening of the first RTX data center in India this year, increasing access to high-quality gaming in the region. This initiative follows the launch of the service in Colombia and Chile, in partnership with Digevo, and the upcoming arrival in Thailand through Brothers Picture.
New Cloud Games: DOOM and Avowed Highlighted
GeForce NOW’s library, which already boasts over 2,100 titles, will receive two major AAA releases this year. DOOM: The Dark Ages, from the iconic id Software, brings an epic and cinematic chapter to the famed saga, exploring the origins of the legendary DOOM Slayer.
Another highly anticipated title is Avowed, a first-person fantasy RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, known for hits like Fallout: New Vegas. The game arrives on the platform on February 18, allowing players to explore a rich and mysterious world as an envoy of the Aedyr Empire. Combining weapons and magic, and featuring characters that evolve with player choices, Avowed promises to be an immersive experience.
