The Game Boy Light is based on the Game Boy Pocket . However , the Game Boy Light is larger than the Pocket and shines with a switchable green backlight. In the standard version, the Game Boy Light was available in the noble colors gold and silver . Limited versions were added later. The Game Boy Light was released exclusively in Japan in 1997.
