Gunship for Mega Drive  is the Mega Drive version of the MicroProse helicopter series. Just like in the original game, the player can control a helicopter from the first-person perspective. The missions are preceded by a briefing and a planning phase. A map of the area is displayed from top to bottom with the starting position, enemy locations, fuel depots and destination. The player sets custom waypoints to reach the destination. A refill is often required to get this far and has to be charged for.
